Hinckley’s Only Microbrewery

Established in August 2013, Elliswood Brewery is proud to be Hinckley’s only microbrewery, and the town’s first commercial brewery since 1900.

Owned by Louise and Darren Lavender who are also landlords of two award-winning real ale pubs recognized by CAMRA - The New Plough Inn, on Leicester Road, and The Greyhound, on New Buildings. The pair are committed to the town, supporting local charities plus creating, and pouring the towns best ales!

As everyone knows, 2020 was a tough year for breweries and pubs alike. But amid the challenges came an opportunity - to slow down, refocus, and pour their energy into shaping the future of the new venture. From refining the brand to developing fresh recipes, those early days laid the groundwork for what New Buildings Brewery is today.

The brewing world was shifting, and it was the perfect moment to evolve with it. After many conversations (and a fair few pints!) New Buildings was born!

With a passion for great beer and a desire to bring brewing back to the heart of Hinckley.

Following the rebrand the brewery has grown its customer base across the Midlands, consistently producing and supplying high-quality craft beers, including a range of new and seasonal specials.

How to Order

We sell 9 gallon casks or pins direct to free trade pubs, plus we won the tenders to supply via the SIBA Beerflex order portal (Marstons, Punch Pubs, Admiral taverns, Greene King, Fullers, Star Heineken pubs and more), plus we supply to J D Wetherspoons and Stonegate pubs.

Delivering within a 60 mile radius of Hinckley. The areas we cover are:

- Nottinghamshire

- West Midlands

- Warwickshire

- Northampton

- Staffordshire

- Worcester

In between brewing, delivering and completing audits to win new tenders, Darren has been laser focussed on what's next for the brewery (long days in the van helps)!

We are working to cement New Buildings Brewery at the heart of Hinckley’s independent beer scene. This means creating a business that supplies to customers directly. SO, we've launched a bottled beers range and designed some must-have merch for your home bars.

We began hosting our own beer festivals in the pubs sourcing other independent beers.

And in between all this Darren built a trade bar which has been out for the first time in 2025 across Leicestershire with massive success! We love meeting the customers!

And we're just getting started.

In the pipeline is a brewery tap room and plans for a mobile craft wagon to better serve the community with pop ups and events.
